The purpose of this WebQuest is to introduce students to the programs of the New Deal, and to encourage students to learn how to work in groups. It is also important for students to work on their handwriting as much as possible, and this is why it is insisted that all work be handwritten. Students also must continue to work on using proper grammar and correct spelling on projects that they turn in for grades. The business world requires us to insist that our students learn and use appropriate speech and writing techniques. Finally, much of the world's history has been passed from generation to generation via the spoken word. Talking to those who lived during a particular time period helps students understand how it actually felt to be alive at this time, and will give them insights that no book will ever be able to impart.
